Dharma

Rare is birth as a human being. Hard is the life of mortals. Hard is the hearing of the sublime truth. Rare is the appearance of the Buddha’s.

Dhammapada 182

Some are reborn as human beings, the wicked are reborn in woeful states, the righteous go to blissful states, and those who are free form mental defilement’s pass away into nibbana.

Dhammapada 126

Better than a thousand utterances, comprising useless words, Is one single beneficial utterance by hearing which one is calmed.

Dhammapada 100

Not in the sky, nor in mid-ocean, nor in a mountain cave, is found that place on earth where abiding, one will not be overcome by death.

Dhammapada 128

Mind is the forerunner of (all good) states. Mind is chief; mind-made are they. If one speaks or acts with pure mind, because of that, happiness follows one, even as one’s shadow that never leaves.
